Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Evening Opening Hours To Be Reduced

The Tree of Life at DisneyÕs Animal Kingdom -- Nighttime Artist Concept

Following Disney making lots of announcements earlier this year about the new nighttime activities coming to the Animal Kingdom, it looks like Disney will be cutting back on the opening hours this coming winter.   The park had been open until 11pm during the summer, but from September, the park will be closing at 9pm, it will then close at 7pm in October and 6pm during November and December.

Disney will still offer some evening entertainment with its Tree of Life show and the nighttime version of the Kilimanjaro Safaris.  But with the Rivers of Light show still not set to open anytime soon, it looks like Disney are looking to cut back as earlier this week “The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” was announced as closing in September.

According to Disney spokesperson, Andrea Finger, who spoke with Orlando My Way said:

“We will continue to offer new nighttime experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including Kilimanjaro Safaris, the awakening of the Tree of Life, Tiffins restaurant and more.  We will continue to adjust our hours and will remain open after sunset to deliver those experiences for our guests. As sunset gets earlier, we will be able to offer these experiences earlier than we have in the summer.”

Its not unusual for Disney to bring evening shows and attractions earlier during the winter months, however with Disney pushing the Animal Kingdom as a full day experience, many are wondering if the plan has been pushed back until the Rivers of Light show is operational and the new “Pandora – World of Avatar” area is open.
