Review: Marvel Tsum Tsum Mystery Packs Series 1 (JAKKS Pacific)
First officially revealed at Toy Fair this past February, JAKKS Pacific just recently expanded their popular vinyl Tsum Tsum line from just Disney/Pixar characters into the realm of superheroes and Marvel. Here is a closer look at the first series of their Marvel Tsum Tsum Mystery Packs.
This first series of Mystery Packs consists of ten different Marvel Tsum Tsum, each medium sized and accompanied by a themed accessory, which can be used to stack multiple Tsum Tsum together. This assortment includes a lot of fan favorites, including a couple of popular Marvel villains.
I really think that JAKKS Pacific has raised their accessory game since their first Disney Tsum Tsum Mystery Packs release. The accessories are bulkier, and at times more thought out and less generic. I especially love the little Dancing Groot detail on Rocket’s tree platform, and the Infinity Gauntlet is a great display piece for Thanos. NOTE: Captain America’s shield can be moved from the rock base to the Tsum Tsum itself, as both have openings to place the mounting stud.
Along with the Mystery Packs, JAKKS Pacific has released a full line of Marvel Tsum Tsum figures (including small, medium, and large Tsum Tsum), which are all available in stores now… if you can find them. They have been harder to track down in my neck of the woods due to the popularity of both Tsum Tsum and Marvel.
Another great job by JAKKS Pacific. Now to be on the lookout for Disney Tsum Tsum Mystery Packs Series 3… which also have hit shelves recently.
