Set sail this Halloween season on the spookiest cruise on the Atlantic Ocean. The Disney Magic, the recently renovated cruise ship from the Disney Cruise Line, celebrates Halloween on the High Seas. Embarking on an East Coast cruise with stops in the Canadian Maritimes, the Disney Magic combines Mickey-themed Halloween decorations with the joy and relaxation of a Disney cruise. The ship was opened up for a special media event this past week, sharing the details and special events for this Halloween-themed cruise.

Upon entering the ship, guests are mystified by an animated tree by the front desk. The tree, designed in Canada, gradually transforms throughout the duration of the cruise. Carved pumpkins shaped like Mickey and Minnie adorn the desk while Mickey-shaped pumpkins on banners are hung on the railings above and throughout the lobby atrium. Each porthole on the main and upper deck is decorated with a pumpkin carved face, adding to the Halloween-theme of the ship.

Each afternoon, the Walt Disney Theatre hosts a Sing and Scream version of “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Fun for all ages, fans and newcomers to the film and sing along with the characters while becoming immersed in Tim Burton’s world of Halloween Town. In the special kids-only areas of the ship, 11-14 year-olds can participate in the Marshmallow Olympics. Basketballs are replaced by marshmallows and tweens can create their own marshmallow crafts.

Mickey and friends will be on hand each night in their Halloween-finest to greet guests in the lobby atrium. Once guests return to the ship by 4:15, Mickey will be ready in the lobby to pose for photos and sign autographs. Of course, no Halloween event would be complete without a Mouse-querade party! Guests can trick-or-treat, dance, or pose with Disney Pals all onboard the ship. On special days, mask-making and pumpkin-carving will delight guests of all ages, kids can attend a campfire on the upper deck and tell ghost stories, while adults can attend a special Halloween party just for them, costume contest included!
