Snow White Getting Live Action Movie Treatment By Disney

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first animated feature film by Disney which was the start of many beloved films we have come to know and love through the years.

The film itself has been deemed worthy enough to be selected for preservation in the National Film Registry for being culturally, historically and/or aesthetically significant.

It’s been reported by Variety.com that Snow White will get the live action remake treatment by Disney, joining the long list of others including The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Mulan and many others.

It is interesting to note that Disney is also working on a live action spin off to Snow White’s story called “Rose Red” which will follow her sister and her journey.

According to Disney, this live action musical movie will further expand upon the story and music of the original film. The studio is currently in negotiations with screenwriter for “Girl on the Train”, Erin Cressida Wilson, to write the film’s script. Songwriters for La La Land ,Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are slated to write new songs. While there are no directors attached to the film as of yet Marc Platt, who is currently working with Disney and Ice Cube on a live action Oliver Twist project, will produce this film as well.

Do you think Snow white should have a live action reboot?
