Doctor Strange Pulls In $44 Million At The Chinese Box Office

Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” pulled in over $44.5 million at the box office in its opening weekend in China with over 80,000 screenings. According to from local tracking service Ent Group, the movie took $12.0 million on Friday, $17.7 million on Saturday and $14.2 million on Sunday.

The movie accounted for 69% of the total box office revenues on Friday and Saturday. While the movie didn’t do as well in the opening weekend as Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which pulled in $150 million over the opening weekend and Captain America: Civil War bringing in $93.6 million on its opening weekend. This continues Disney’s box office dominance with Zootopia, The Jungle Book and Star Wars: The Force Awakens all doing very well in China.
