The Pokemon Company International has announced that the new Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon will air on Disney XD in the United States.  Disney XD will air the first two episodes on December 5th, plus Disney XD will be debuting the Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.

As part of the new multi-year distribution deal, Disney XD has acquired the 19 previous seasons of the Pokémon anime, in addition to 15 movies.

On the same day, players can head to Pokemon.com for the first chance to get the Mythical Pokémon Magearna, one of the stars of the new movie. Players who have already finished their Alola adventure can scan a QR Code to unlock the Pokémon in their Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon game with the new QR Scanner feature.

Our Take:

With the new 3DS games out now, this is great timing for Disney XD and with the huge explosion of Pokemon Go this year, Pokemon interest is at a all time high.  So it makes sense to bring this audience to the channel.

What do you think of Pokemon coming to Disney XD?

    Meh…

I liked it on Cartoon Network more, but I think I’ll give it a shot once Pokemon airs on Disney XD!
