Rejoice comic book fans! The Disney and Sony reboot of Spider-Man will feature a costume with wings, similar to original drawings by Steve Ditko and John Romita. The wings are an upgrade to the suit created by Tony Stark in Captain America: Civil War. According to Omelete, the scene goes like this:

“The scene begins with the camera in first person, as the vision of Peter Parker. We see Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), who asks the young man to hurry. ‘What is this?’ Asks Hogan. ‘It’s my suit,’ Parker replies. We see only the sleeves of the uniform and the web-shooters. ‘You did not get the package?’ Hogan asks. Parker then finds a package on the table with a note from Tony Stark: ‘some minor upgrades’.

The next scene shows Spider-Man on top of an building. When he jumps, small wings similar to the drawings of Steve Ditko and John Romita appear. The ‘wings’ range from the waist to the middle of the arm and maintain the blend of retro and technological of the uniform seen in Captain America: Civil War.”

Ryan Penagos, the Vice President of Marvel, confirmed the footage and matched the description provided by Omelete. This week, director Jon Watts shared behind-the-scenes footage of Tom Holland performing facial capture for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
