Golden Globe Nominees and Critics Choice Winner Announced

The Golden Globe Awards released their list of nominees this morning. With the big box office splash The Walt Disney Company had this year, it was no surprise that they received nominations. For Best Animated Picture, Disney’s Zootopia and Moana were recognized and “How Far I’ll Go” written by Lin-Manuel Miranda from Moana was nominated for Best Original Song.

For the television categories, ABC’s Black-ish is nominated for Best Television Series — Comedy, with Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis-Ross receiving nominations for Lead Actor and Actress. ABC’s American Crime also received nominations for Best Limited Series and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television for Felicity Huffman’s performance.

Good luck to each nominee! Results will be announced live on television on January 8th, 2017.

The Critics Choice Awards also crowned Zootopia as the Best Animated Feature Film of the season, beating out fellow Golden Globe-nominee Moana. “How Far I’ll Go” was also nominated, but lost to a song from La La Land.
