The Jungle Book & Spider-Man Tom Holland Win Awards At The BAFTAS

At the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTA), The Jungle Book won the Special Visual Effects award, beating some of their own movies including Rogue One and Doctor Strange.  Robert Legato, Dan Lemmon, Andrew R. Jones, and Adam Valdez picked up the award at the show, which was hosted by Stephen Fry and took place at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on Sunday 12 February 2017.

Disney lost out on the Best Animated movie award, despite having Finding Dory, Moana and Zootropolis nominated, it was Kubo and the Two Strings that won the award.

Also the public voted Spider-Man actor, Tom Holland, as the EE Rising Star.

Other winners at the event included:

  • Five BAFTAs for La La Land including Best Film, Director and Leading Actress for Emma Stone
  • Casey Affleck wins Leading Actor for Manchester by the Sea
  • Dev Patel and Viola Davis win Supporting Actor and Actress
  • I, Daniel Blake wins Outstanding British Film
