This is the first of many changes to come to Planet Hollywood at this location as they are planning to make celebrities the focus once again. Planet Hollywood Founder, Robert Earl, stated that he planned to build an outdoor quick service spot on the exterior of the building and has already gotten permission from Disney Springs officials to begin.

On Monday, March 13, 2017, pop-sensation Britney Spears kicked off the Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs celebration with a meet and greet, where she engaged with fans, signed autographs and took selfies on the red carpet. Following the meet and greet, Spears, alongside her two sons Sean and Jayden, Mom Lynne as well as her sister, Jamie Lynn and niece Maddie Briann, ‘dined amongst the stars’ in the four-story stargazing Observatory.

The Spears family indulged in Planet Hollywood’s enhanced yet timeless menu items which introduces a savory selection of “Big Bite Burgers” and over-the-top Signature Sandwiches from dynamic Chef, restaurateur and TV Personality, Guy Fieri. Following lunch, Spears and her family paid homage to the long tradition of filmmaking and Planet Hollywood’s commitment to the new, rising stars of the entertainment industry by admiring the different experiences portrayed on each floor. Bringing it all to life, the group headed to the merchandise shop where they tried on classic Planet Hollywood gear and reminisced how Britney Spears has not visited Disney in 15 years.

On Friday, March 17th, A-list Actress, Reese Witherspoon celebrated the opening of Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs with an official ribbon cutting ceremony, alongside the iconic Mickey Mouse. Following the ceremony, Witherspoon and Planet Hollywood International Founder and Chairman, Robert Earl hosted an intimate cocktail reception with family and friends, overlooking the heart of Downtown Disney. The group immersed themselves in the theatrical dining experience, paying tribute to the iconic globe while enjoying passed bites and cocktails in the newly expanded outdoor terrace and bar.

No word on when construction will begin.
