Shanghai Disney Resort Premieres Pin Trading Fun Day

On April 23, Shanghai Disney Resort will host the first-ever Disney Pin Trading Fun Day in mainland China, bringing guests a day packed with exclusive pin trading opportunities and fun activities. Disney Pin Trading is a favorite Disney tradition worldwide, with special Pin Trading days – like the debut event in Shanghai Disneyland – the can’t-miss festival for big Disney fans around the globe. Now, guests in China can join in on the magic, with exclusive first access to eight Limited Edition pins, twelve new Hidden Mickey Pins, and more.

Disney has long offered collectible pins at its parks to help guests bring home Disney magic and memories. But to kick off the Millennium Celebration at Walt Disney World Resort in 1999, Disney introduced a new concept of Pin Trading for guests. The activity became an instant favorite among the most devoted Disney fans and turned into a popular activity at the park. Today, Pin Trading has spread worldwide, winning over the hearts of Disney fans and guests of all ages, and becoming a beloved Disney tradition across the globe

To take part in this tradition, guests visiting Shanghai Disney Resort can find cast members wearing a lanyard with Disney pins, identify a pin they love, then present one of their own Disney pins to the cast member as a trade. From there, the new pin is theirs to cherish forever – or trade again. Guests may also chat with other guests to find pin trading opportunities and make their customized Disney Pin collection.

Guests can trade pins at Disney parks and resorts every day, but the special Pin Trading Fun Day being held at Carefree Corner in Shanghai Disneyland on April 23, will be the first pin trading celebration in mainland China, giving Disney fans the unique opportunity to access brand new pins and enjoy a host of activities designed around the beloved Disney tradition.

During the inaugural Pin Trading festival, eight exclusive Pin Trading Fun Day 2017 designs will be released to guests. These new Limited Edition pins include Mickey Mouse, THE LION KING, Toy Story, Winnie the Pooh, classic characters, Alice in Wonderland, Lilo and Stitch as well as a mystery set. Plus, twelve new Hidden Mickey Pins that make up a brand-new Chinese Zodiac series will be introduced to guests for the first time, adding to what will be the largest variety of Hidden Mickey Pins on the same day. The Hidden Mickey Pins are only available to guests through cast member trading, making these new pins at Shanghai Disneyland a prize collectible for Disney fans. All the new pins being released on Pin Trading Fun Day 2017 were designed
exclusively for Shanghai Disney Resort. Beyond the Limited Edition and Hidden Mickey pins, a
vast assortment of popular Disney pins will also be available for purchase and trading.

Throughout the day, guests will also enjoy a host of special activities taking place at Carefree
Corner and Sweethearts Confectionery, including a lucky draw, a magic drawing class, a pin
knowledge sharing session, a pin quiz, and meet and greets with a pin artist. Guests will also be
able to visit a limited-time Pin Trader Collection Showcase, which features collections from Disney
fans.
