Frozen Broadway Musical Casting News

On April 17, 2017 Disney Theatrical Productions announced big casting news for the Broadway adaptation of it’s film, Frozen, Fans speculated that Frozen would be heading to Broadway after it was announced that the Aladdin show in Disney’s California Adventure would be replaced by a Frozen show. Aladdin’s pre-broadway debut took place at DCA so Frozen would be no different.

In Monday’s announcement, it was announced that Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez would be returning to write additional music for the Broadway-bound show as well as bringing on a newcomer, Rob Ashford (“Evita”), as choreographer on the project.

Now onto what everyone is excited for, the casting of our beloved characters. Cassie Levy (“Ghost”, “Les Miserables”, “Hair”) will be playing the role of Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel) while Patti Murin (“Xanadu”) will be playing the role of Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell). Jelani Alladin will be making his Broadway debut with the role of Kristoff (voiced by Jonathan Groff). Greg Hildreth (“Cinderella”) will be playing the role of everyone’s favorite talking snowman, Olaf (voiced by Josh Gad). John Riddle will be playing the role of Hans (voiced by Santino Fontana) and rounding out the announced cast will be Robert Creighton playing the role of the Duke of Weselton.

Frozen will being its out-of-town engagement August 17 and run until October 1 in Denver before it opens on Broadway Spring 2018!

    I wanted Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad and Satino Fontana to all reprise their roles from the animated movie for the Broadway musical!
