Pirates of the Caribbean CD and Picture Book Available at Disney Parks

Almost a year ago, Disney presented a book series called “Disney Parks Presents” which would be a series of Picture book/CD combos that highlight attractions at the Disney Parks. The series started with a Picture Book/CD combo for the cherished attraction, “The Haunted Mansion.” Disney has announced the second of the series, “Pirates of the Caribbean” which is excellent timing as it is the 50th anniversary of the ride at Disneyland.

Eric Geron came up with the idea for the series and he is the Associate Editor with Disney Publishing. He explained his use of bright colors in the book.

“It’s definitely a more colorful book when compared to somber notes of ‘The Haunted Mansion’ book,” explained Eric. “We wanted to capture the excitement guests feel when embarking on a journey through the colorful, treasure-filled caverns, or the bustling seaside villas found in the attraction. There were so many memorable scenes recreated for the book. Similar to our first book, we added a few Hidden Mickeys for guests to find.”

The book allows readers to explore the pirate infested, firelit walls of the Caribbean. Artist Mike Wall’s illustrations accompany the lyrics for “A Pirate’s Life for Me!” from the attraction. The CD will include a music track designed especially by Composer George Bruns and Lyricist Xavier Atencio.

The second book in the series will be sold at both domestic parks and other retailers.
