Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Delivers Out-Of-This-World Box Office For 3D Sales

RealD Inc., the world’s largest 3D cinema  platform and visual technology company, announced today that Marvel Studios’ blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has generated an outstanding 41% of its worldwide gross to date from 3D performances of the film. $174 million of the total estimated nearly $428 million worldwide to date has come from 3D ticket sales and an estimated $72 million was collected from RealD equipped locations.

The highest performing 3D countries internationally include China (99%), Germany (80%), Brazil (76%), Russia (52%), Hong Kong (43%), The Netherlands (90%), Colombia (85%) and Austria (85%).

This year’s 3D motion pictures include such highly anticipated titles as Spider-Man: Homecoming, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and Transformers: The Last Knight, among many others
