Funko Review: Pop! Deluxe Star Wars Rey with Speeder

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

Okay, so maybe it was just last month at Star Wars Celebration Orlando when the first in the series of Star Wars Pop! Deluxe was released. A convention exclusive shared with Walmart, the Rey with Speeder Pop! Deluxe features Rey on her speeder from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. While I was not able to attend the convention in Orlando on Easter weekend, a friend of mine was able to secure a Rey for me, and I recently unboxed her for review. Check out my video and then drop down for pictures of the Pop! out of the box.

From the onset, you can tell this is a Deluxe Pop! because the box is a lot larger than a normal Pop! or Pop! Rides box. It’s also a more open design than a Pop! Vinyl box with more of a window box, similar to a Pop! Rides box.

And here is Rey out of the box.

First off, I like the little insert showing the desert of Jakku, where Rey rides her speeder around collecting junk, and ultimately meeting BB-8 and setting her on a whirlwind adventure. Then there is the Pop! itself. I mean, this is a beautiful one. Although  Rey is not removable, she looks great crouched on her speeder. My Star Wars Funko collection isn’t big these days, but this is a perfect addition to my collection.

Overall, this is a great piece, and one that will be proudly displayed on my shelves in my apartment. Also, can’t wait to add the Pop! Deluxe Luke that will be the A New Hope 40th Anniversary Smugglers Bounty subscription box.

Did you get the Rey with Speeder Pop! Deluxe? What are your thoughts on it? Let us know in the comments below.
