What’s New & Thoughts

Due to the fact that it’s the 25th I was expecting a fairly subdued offering for christmas. Boy, was I wrong! Most of the things from last year are returning with a fair selection of new offerings. First of all, the studios. The inclusion of the studios in Christmas is a fantastic idea. Usually it’s very underserved so this is great to see. How good the new shows are remains to be seen but it’s a great sign. The use of the tower for another projection show is fantastic as well.

The new offerings in Disney Park are also pretty interesting. The changing of the christmas band in Videopolis makes sense. But I do wonder what they are going to do with the Jedi Academy – especially with The Last Jedi coming out soon. But it sounds like a fun show. The Sitch show sounds like great fun as well – and he’s always been a popular character.  Not one I’d associate with Christmas but never mind.

The return of the Frozen Sing Along makes sense but it’s always a shame that it comes at the cost of Forest of Enchantment. To be fair Forest isn’t exactly christmas themed but you know. The Frozen show has been running a while now and I’d be keen to see them do something new.

It’s a great offering and plenty to do, especially with all the new shows. However, the loss of elements of the 25th – especially the castle stage shows – is not fantastic. I’d have expected the 25th to trump christmas. But, it’s not as if elements of the 25th aren’t included and it’s not being heavily promoted. All in all it looks to be an amazing Christmas season.
