Black Panther | Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite DLC Review

This past week saw the release of the first wave of additional DLC characters for Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite, including Black Panther, Monster Hunter and Stigma.  Black Panther is available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, it is priced at $7.99 and he is also included in the 2017 Character Pass along with Stigma, Monster Hunter, Venom, Winter Solider and Black Widow.

Black Panther’s style is that is a melee fighter who is a little similar to Wolverine, in that he does quick slashes with his claws.  Using this claws, he can also cling to walls which allows him to escape from the battle plus he can also jump onto opponents from the walls.

I really like how his special moves incorporate that movement into them and he gives off a feeling of a character that’s a cross between Spider-Man and Wolverine, making him very enjoyable to play as.

The DLC also includes a premium costume, changing Black Panther’s appearance, though I will tend to keep to his original look.

One of the nagging thoughts about this character is how Black Panther and the others from this wave should have been included in the standard game.  Black Panther appears in some cut scenes during the main story along with Stigma and Monster Hunter, yet we don’t see them in action.  Which means I don’t feel it warrants the price of the character or Season Pass and unless your a hardcore player of the game, it isn’t a necessary purchase.

Some could argue that the other characters like Black Widow should have been included in the core game, but we never actually see them in the main story.

Check out this trailer below featuring Black Panther in action:

OVERALL: While Black Panther is a fun character to play as, he has a variety of cool moves and with the upcoming movie coming out, Black Panther will no doubt be considered to be one of the top tier Marvel heroes, but I can’t shake off the feeling this character should have been included in the game and it leaves a little sour taste.
