Film Critics Associations Boycotting Disney Movies Over LA Times Blacklisting

Following news that Disney have blocked early advance screenings for LA Times movie reviewers following a disagreement on a LA Times article, the LA Films Critic Association has joined other US critics in a boycotting Disney movies.

Here is the full statement:

This news has many journalists and reporters condemning Disney over what they feel is threatening free press and unfair treatment of the LA Times, with some reviewers saying they will boycott Disney.

However with many of the biggest movies like Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Coco, set to come out in the coming weeks, will Disney be effected by a lack of advance reviews from these outlets at the box office or will a world full of thousands of online reviewers, rotten tomatoes and social media, do the same job?

The fact that a crappy, artsy reviewer isn’t going to see Coco or Star Wars has ZERO bearing on me seeing both films.
