Hasbro In Talks To Buy Mattel

Toy maker Hasbro is currently in talks with Mattel for a potential takeover, according to the Wall Street Journal. Both companies make toys for Disney, with Mattel making toys based on Cars, Toy Story and Planes, while Hasbro make toys based on Marvel, Star Wars, Frozen and other Disney brands.

Both companies shares boosted in value when this news was revealed, with Hasbro worth more than $11 billion and Mattel worth $5 million, this buyout would change the toy industry, which has been changing in recent years with companies like Toy R Us going into bankruptcy.

No details have yet been revealed yet and both companies have declined to comment.
