Disney Fox Deal Could Be Announced By Next Week

The news of Disney buying some assets from Fox continue to gain momentum as CNBC is reporting that they are closing in on a deal and could be announced as soon as next week.

Fox has been looking to sell its studio and television production assets, which would leave Fox with its news and sports assets.  While talks with Disney have progressed more significantly, Fox are also in talks with Comcast (Universal).

News of the deal have seen shares of Twenty First Fox rise by 3.2 percent, however Disney’s shares dropped by 2.1 percent.

The deal is set to be above $60 billion, which shows how important this deal is worth, since the deal also includes TV networks like FX, Nat Geo, Star, plus regional sports networks and it’s stakes in Sky and Hulu, plus other properties.

Disney paid $4 billion for Marvel and another $4 billion for Star Wars, both of which have seen Disney expand its reach with those franchises, by buying Fox, Disney are buying mutiple franchises, a huge back catalog of shows and movies and much more.
