‘The Little Mermaid’ Live-Action Disney Reboot Finds Its Director

Disney’s upcoming live action version of “The Little Mermaid” has found its director, as Rob Marshall has been offered the job according to Deadline.

The movie will see Lin-Manuel Mirando and Alan Menken to write songs for the reboot.   Alan Menken also worked on many classic songs from the original animated movie including the songs “Under the Sea,” “Part of Your World,” and “Kiss the Girl.”

 

Rob Marshall has directed some Disney movies already including “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” and “Into the Woods,” plus the upcoming “Mary Poppins Returns”.

Disney have been huge success with their live-action remakes like the Jungle Book and “Beauty and the Beast”
