Review: NBX Tumbler Glassware Collection (Diamond Select)
Today I wanted to take a look at the recently released The Nightmare Before Christmas (NBX) set of glassware from Diamond Select. There are four pieces in this set, which depict characters from the Tim Burton stop-motion film. However, for this review, I will be looking at three of the four designs, as The Mayor glass was not readily available.

Similar to the Muppet Show glassware I reviewed earlier this year, each glass depicts a central character or theme on the front of the glass with a write up on the backside.
For the NBX collection, each of these three glasses feature Jack, Sally, and Oogie Boogie, each surrounded by secondary characters from the film. Let’s check them out.
Jack Skellington Tumbler
In the case of Jack’s tumbler, it’s actually just five versions of Jack: him lamenting on the graveyard hill, him as Sandy Claws, regular Jack, him as the Pumpkin King, and finally him driving the sleigh of reindeer to “save Christmas”. The back of the glass reads:
“Jack Skellington is one of Halloween Town’s most prominent citizens. As the Pumpkin King, he represents everything that is fun and magical about Halloween, but pure, unadulterated joy of Christmas proves too tempting for him to resist.”
Sally Tumbler
Sally is surrounded on her tumbler with a scene of her and Jack on the graveyard hill (at the end of the movie), her creator, Dr. Finkelstein, and Jack’s ghost dog, Zero. The back of her glass reads:
“Sally is a rag doll, stitched together from body parts by the mad scientist Dr. Finkelstein, and stuffed full of leaves. Though she is forbidden from leaving her tower, she loves Jack Skellington and reluctantly assists him in his plan to steal Christmas.”
Oogie Boogie Tumbler
Last up in this review is the glass of Oogie Boogie, which features the film’s villain and his three henchmen: Lock, Shock, and Barrel. The back of Oogie’s glass reads:
“Oogie Boogie is one of Halloween Town’s nastiest residents, and believes that his fellow creatures don’t go nearly far enough in scaring children on Halloween night. Lock, Shock, and Barrel are the world’s greatest trick-or-treaters and his loyal agents.”
Overall, I feel this is another fun addition to any NBX collection, or even a Disney glassware collection… as I know a few of you have. If you want to add these to your collection, you can order them over at Entertainment Earth. Get them for you or your loved ones for the holidays!
