ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex To Host Jr. NBA World Championship In Summer 2018

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort will host the newly announced Jr. NBA World Championship Aug. 7-12, 2018, featuring the top boys and girls teams ages 14 and under from around the world.

The first-of-its kind tournament will include 16 regional champions (eight U.S. and eight international teams) in boys and girls divisions, and will tip off in spring of 2018 with U.S. and international games across various regional sites.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard and three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade and Los Angeles Sparks forward and WNBA champion Candace Parker will serve as global ambassadors for the Jr. NBA World Championship.

The tournament is the latest basketball event to take place at Disney’s world-class sports complex, which regularly hosts elite professional, international, collegiate and recreational youth sports competitions. During its 20-year history, the sports complex has hosted AAU National Championships, the AdvoCare Invitational college basketball tournament and Orlando Magic training camp.
