Fox Moves Release Dates For New Mutants, Deadpool 2 & Gambit

20th Century Fox have announced that they will be moving around the release dates for a number of Marvel movies including Deadpool 2, Gambit and the New Mutants.

Deadpool 2, will be released two weeks earlier, moving from June 1st 2018 to May 18th 2018, which means its out a week before Solo: A Star Wars Story, but now in direct competition with Sony’s “Slender Man”.

“The New Mutants” will be delayed from April 13th 2018 until February 22nd 2019, as Fox didn’t want to have two Marvel movies released within weeks of each other.   It would also be released very close to Avengers: Infinity War.

New Mutants features 5 X-Men mutants, Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Magik, Sunspot and Mirage, who attempt to escape their captivity in a secret facility.  This movie has a horror theme to it, so will be very different to any previously released X-Men movies.

And finally, Gambit has now been pushed back from February 14th, 2019, to June 7th 2019.   This is because the Director Gore Verbinski has left the project following scheduling issues.  This is the third director to quit the project, which is set to star Channing Tatum.  Fox also expect this movie to do better in the summer as its set to be a heist movie.

There are still many questions about the release of the Gambit, with so many delays and now the movie hasn’t even begun filming, with the upcoming purchase by Disney, will this movie ever be released?

What do you think of these date changes?
