Avengers #676 Review

The second issue from this new weekly series continues off with the remaining Avengers trying to work out what’s happening to the Earth and why all the core Superheroes and Villains have been frozen.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this story is the introduction of The Voyager, retelling original history with her as a founding member of the Avengers.  It’s certainly a cool way to introduce someone new but instantly make her a leader plus a major part of history, that none of us knew of.

We also see the return of the Black Order and Lethal Legion, coming straight for the remaining Avengers.  It’s interesting to see Marvel pushing these villains into the story, which is already bulging with characters, but it needs some good Villains to get the story developing and more interesting.  They also deliver some great action scenes that made one heck of a cliffhanger, while also raising more questions.

Once again the artwork is great and offers plenty of detail, while instantly making flashback scenes standout.  This series is certainly worth getting into, especially with it running for 16 weeks.

OVERALL:  Once again, the Avengers continues to tell a interesting story that has some major aspects to it and it’s certainly peaked my interest in this series and I certainly want to keep turning the pages to find out what’s happening next, which is the one problem, since we know so little after reading it, but I’m sure it’ll become clearer as it goes on.

REVIEW SCORE: 8 out of 10
