Avengers #681 Review

The latest in the “No Surrender” story arc finally gets to a point where we are learning more about what’s actually going on, with it being told from the point of view of the Lethal Legion’s Glah-Ree, AKA Kree warrior Captain Glory.  So we find out they maybe aren’t the real villains in this after all, since their being forced to fight for their lives too.

This issue also sees Hawkeye brought into the story, which isn’t really what this story needs, there are already too many characters involved and none of them are getting time to shine, so adding more to the mix is just over kill.

One good aspect of this issue, is that we get to see the origin of the Voyager, how she got her powers and a little backstory into her family.  It’s a shame it’s taken this long to get there.

For the past three weeks we’ve seen it end on a cliffhanger of the Hulk about to join the story and I’ll be honest, it’s getting annoying that they keep teasing it but not delivering on it.

OVERALL:

Avengers #681 is now almost half way and it’s just taking so long to getting to the point and it’s so confusing due to the amount of characters involved.  I’m hoping it’s going to be worth it, as this series isn’t cheap.
