Black Widow Marvel Toybox Action Figure Review

While the Disney Infinity video game may no longer be around, Disney is continuing to make the most of the games assets with continued releases of new “Toybox” action figures featuring designs from the game.

The latest Marvel release is Black Widow, who comes with a baton accessory and is fully posable due to articulation points at the neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, waist, hips, knee and ankle, giving lots of different positions to put her in, which makes it much more fun to play with or place on display.

Here is a look at the packaging:

Here is a closer look at the figure:

The figure does stand out as being a very good representation of the character, with lots of different poses available but being that much smaller than the other Marvel figures, does make it feel it might struggle with heavy play.

One of the biggest issues I had with this figure are the accessories, first the guns on her hips can com off but generally feel a little odd when trying to put into her hands.  There is a little backpack that can hold her batons, but I could only attach them to one side and finally the batons themselves are extremely flimsy.  They fall apart with a simple touch and while its cool that the idea is plenty of flexibility of use, they just are too thin.  I actually thought I snapped one when I took it out the packet.

And here is a comparison to the original Disney Infinity 2.0 figure:

When compared to the original Disney Infinity figure, its much easier to see the small differences they’ve made to her, such as her hair being shorter and more detail has been added to the body.  But generally they are very close.

Here is my video review of the Black Widow action figure:

OVERALL:

This is one of the better Black Widow action figure’s I’ve seen, however the accessories really let this figure down, its a shame as the actual figure is high quality and for fans of the Black Widow, this is a good addition.  As with all the Toybox action figures, they offer incredible value for money, but are much more aimed at children to play with, rather than as a collectible.

REVIEW SCORE:  7 out of 10
