Disney Character Bilingual Books Coming Soon
Disney have signed a multi-year deal with BuzzPop, a division of Bonnier Publishing USA, for a series of bilingual books, featuring Disney characters including the Classics like Mickey Mouse, Princesses and Pixar, and characters from Disney Channel and Disney Junior shows.
Books will be released in three different bilingual languages including English-Spanish, English-Mandarin and English-French. The releases will include storybooks, board books, leveled readers and more.
They will also aim to appeal to new language learners and bilingual readers, and will introduce new concepts including numbers, colors and simple words, as well as new stories. These will end priced at $3.99 for storybooks and $6.99 for board books.
“We’re happy to add Disney stories to these formats,” says Sonali Fry, publisher, BuzzPop. “Children’s books play such a crucial role in early development. Dual language books can help children build fluency in both languages and raise social and cultural awareness. Adding easily recognizable characters to the mix helps grab the attention of even the most reluctant reader, encouraging bilingual literacy at a young age.”
The first books, Disney Princess Numbers and Disney Princess Colors, will hit store shelves this July in English and Spanish. And are available to pre-order now from Amazon.
More titles will follow including Moana and Coco will be released in August and 10 additional titles featuring Frozen, Fancy Nancy, “Elena of Avalor” Mickey Mouse and more, which will be released at the end of the year and into 2019.
