Avengers #687 Review
Avengers #687 sees all the momentum from previous issues and slows back down to a snails pace as the Avengers find out the truth about Voyager and the game.
This issue feels like the last breath of air the Avengers get before suiting up one last time to do battle as the fate of the Earth is in their hands, as the Challenger has now shown up.
With the Heroes trying to explain to Voyager what being an Avenger is all about. This part felt a little too forced as she got to experience the reasoning behind being an Avenger before she revealed who she was, which was why she felt torn in the first place.
I also enjoyed the scene between Bruce Banner and Jarvis as they have a real heart to heart discussion.
The artwork is as good as previous issues and I like how the artists used the old fashioned art style to show history being rewritten in the Avengers minds. I also liked how they tried to explain why Vision was put in stasis because Voyager couldn’t change his memories.
OVERALL:
This issue feels like a quick breather for the series ahead of the big final battle, which is a shame as the last few issues have been really good. It might not be the most action packed issue, but it does what it needs to.
