Review: Solo’s Flocked Chewbacca (Box Lunch Exclusive)
For today’s Pop! Review, I take a look at the Flocked Chewbacca from the new Solo: A Star Wars Story line of Pop! Vinyls from Funko. Exclusive here in the US to Box Lunch stores and online, this exclusive features the same sculpt of Chewbacca from the line (wearing his goggles), but has the flocking applied to it.
Obviously, the film has not come out yet, so I have not invested a lot of money into the line until I see the movie and actually like it. However, when I was at my local Box Lunch store to get my Earth Day Wall-E last month, he was sitting at the register and I figured I would pick him up in case he became hard to find later.
I do like this sculpt of Chewbacca, who is a younger version than we have gotten in Pop! form before. I am looking forward to finding out more about Chewie at this point in his lifetime, and how he became to know his smuggler-in-crime, Han Solo. Also, while I am not necessarily a fan of the flocked look (either by choice of character or application of the flocking), I think this Pop! is done pretty well.
If you are interested in picking up this flocked version of Chewbacca, visit your local Box Lunch store or check out Box Lunch online. Also, check out the new Han Solo movie, which comes out on May 25th.
