Fox’s Delays Alita: Battle Angel, X-Men Dark Phoenix & Gambit Releases

21st Century Fox have announced a number of release date changes for their upcoming movie schedule.

First up, Alita: Battle Angel is moving from its December 21st slot and is now coming out on Febuary 14th 2019. This is because Fox is hoping it will then be released in China for the Chinese New Year. However with Aquaman, Mary Poppins Returns and Bumblebee opening at cinemas during the Christmas period, there was lots of strong competition for Alita: Battle Angel.

Fox is filling for void of its December 21st release date with a PG-13 version of Deadpool 2.

With Anita: Battle Angel taking on a Valentines Day slot, this means Fox is moving the next Marvel X-Men Movie, Dark Phoenix, even later into the summer for a release on June 7th. This is the second time the date has been moved for the movie and a new trailer was only released this week. China is once again a big reason for this move.

Fox’s other troubled X-Men movie, Gambit, is moving back to March 13th 2020. This is replacing a previously untitled Fox Marvel title. However with Disney expected to take over Fox during the first half of 2019, this movie is still questionable as it wouldn’t fix in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What do you think of these date changes?
