LucasFilm Shuts Down KOTOR Fan Made Remake

Disney has always taken its trademarks seriously and Lucasfilm has recently requested that Poem Studios shut down its Unreal Engine 4 unofficial remake of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, called Apeiron.

Project leader Taylor Trotter posted a picture of the Lucasfilm letter on Twitter.

With Knights of the Old Republic being available to purchase on PC and the Xbox One, it’s not surprising LucasFilm wants to shut down this unofficial remake, since Disney have shut down many fan based projects over the years.

Especially as Poem Studios was promoting the difference and upgrades from the original, plus using the logos from the game.  By heavily promoting what they had been doing on social media, it’s not a huge surprise this project was shut down.
