Disney Looking To Reboot “Pirates Of The Caribbean”

After five successful movies, which have brought in over $4 billion at the box office, Disney is apparently looking to reboot the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

The studio has met with the writing team behind the two Deadpool movies, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, to explore what to do next with the franchise.

Disney wouldn’t comment to Deadline about the rumour and its unclear if Johnny Depp would return as Captain Jack Sparrow.  Jerry Bruckheimer is set to continue in his role as producer on the Pirates of the Caribbean project.

It would be hard to see a Pirates of the Caribbean movie without Johnny Depp in the role, but originally, Captain Jack Sparrow never appeared in the Disney Theme Park attraction, which the movie series is based on.

What do you think of a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie?

Once again, this shows that Disney would still rather remake and reboot their existing films than to produce more new and original ones. Did anyone even ask for a franchise that’s already worn out it’s welcome to be rebooted?! I don’t think so! They’re doing this, just like almost every single remake, reboot, and even sequels, as an excuse to make a quick buck! They seriously don’t care about quality and the fans anymore! Profit is the only thing that they REALLY care about!
