More Than 200 NBA G League Games Coming To ESPN+

ESPN have announced that ESPN+ subscribers will now be able to watch more than 200 games per season, beginning with the tip-off of the new NBA G League season.

Beginning November 6th, the premium multi-sport, direct-to-consumer video service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment and ESPN will offer multiple NBA G League games per day each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the season.

The new agreement significantly expands coverage of the G League across ESPN platforms, adding to existing coverage of G League games, including regular season, Playoffs and the G League Finals on ESPN’s linear television networks. Details and scheduling for coverage on ESPN’s linear networks will be announced in the coming weeks.

“From Greensboro to Stockton, Erie to Austin, there are basketball fans all over the country. This agreement illustrates the promise and capability of ESPN+ to super serve fans,” said Russell Wolff, Executive Vice President & General Manager, ESPN+. “We’re excited to showcase some of the developing NBA talent and bring more great basketball events to ESPN+ subscribers.”

NBA G League
The NBA G League is the NBA’s official minor league, preparing players, coaches, officials, trainers, and front-office staff for the NBA while acting as the league’s research and development laboratory. Featuring 27 teams — all with one-to-one affiliations with NBA franchises — in the 2018-19 season, the league offers elite professional basketball at an affordable price in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. At the tip-off of the 2018-19 NBA season, an all-time high 40 percent of players – 198 of the league’s 494 players – on NBA rosters had NBA G League experience, a figure that has more than doubled in six seasons.

The G League joins a growing basketball lineup on ESPN+, including thousands of live college basketball games and hundreds of live games from FIBA competitions, as well as a lineup of original programming that includes “NBA: Year One” following the league’s top rookies, “Detail” with Kobe Bryant and “Earn Everything” featuring Duke University.
