New Details Unveiled On Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort’s Gran Destino Tower

During a presentation during the IAAPA18 expo in Orlando, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek unveiled more about the upcoming re-imagining of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

He has officially announced the name of the new 15-story centerpiece of the resort, the Gran Destino Tower.  This new tower will be completed in July 2019 and it will serve as the new main entrance point for guests visiting the resort, with a two-story lobby.  The tower will add a total of 545 new guest rooms (including 50 suites) to the resort.

Other additions include a themed table-service restaurant, which will be on the top of Gran Destino Tower, to offer incredible views of the Walt Disney World Resort.  There are also plans for a second new restaurant to open in an island in the middle of the resort’s lake, Lago Dorado.

The resort will themed around celebrating the daring spirit of the great Spanish explorers, artists, writers and architects. Throughout the resort, guests will discover a blend of classic Spanish influences, imaginative Disney touches and modern comforts both inside and out.
