Review: Muppets Select Deluxe “Messy” Swedish Chef (SDCC Exclusive)

For today’s review, I take a look at the “messy” variant of the Swedish Chef action figure from Diamond Select’s Muppets Select line. Exclusive to San Diego Comic Con this past summer, this figure set features the Swedish Chef creating a catastrophe at his work table, with the help of a chicken and some very worried veggies. Let’s take a look.

The figure and accessories come packaged in a window box with a front opening flap. Swedish Chef features multiple points of articulation, as well as a bunch of accessories including a kitchen work table, a chicken, some vegetables, and a bunch of kitchen items.

 

This is a great addition to the Muppets Select line of action figures from Diamond Select Toys, and a fun variant. While it’s not a far cry from the regular version of Swedish Chef (only difference being the messy apron he is wearing), with this Muppets character always getting into messes on The Muppet Show, this is a great representation of him. Originally voiced by the incomparable Jim Henson, the gibberish speaking Swedish Chef remains a fan favorite to Muppets fans everywhere.
