VIDEO: Cast Announced for “Frozen: The Musical” on London’s West End

As you’re probably aware, the pandemic clipped the wings of FROZEN: The Musical‘s Broadway run. In May, Disney announced the show wouldn’t re-open in New York City after the pandemic. (Its tour of the United States is scheduled to continue, however.)

But the Lee-Lopez-Lopez creation is coming to London’s West End theatre district, tentatively scheduled to open in April 2020.

Today, Disney on Broadway has revealed the complete cast for the production, in a physically-distanced YouTube video, and on their website.

Les Misérables film actress Samantha Barks was previously announced as Elsa, and Stephanie McKeon as Anna.

One of the most interesting casting choices is Mikayla Jade, as the first female Sven. While it’s her “West End debut”, she knows cloven animals quite well: she’s an “equestrian-based stunt performer” for Wonder Woman 1984, and in the equine department of Game of Thrones and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and. She’s toured internationally with Cavalia, a renowned “equine circus” company, as well as touring as a solo act. Well, solo human, joined by her horse.

Additional productions of FROZEN: The Musical are scheduled to open in Sydney, Australia in December 2020 and Hamburg, Germany in 2021.
