Review: Star Wars Babu Frik Talking Plush (Mattel)

For today’s review, I check out a piece released by Mattel this past summer. Featuring a fan favorite character from the most recent Star Wars movie, The Rise of Skywalker, here is the Babu Frik Talking Plush.

This plush, when stood up, comes in at approximately 10″. It is basically a life-size version, as the computer generated Babu Frik in the movie is said to be 9″ tall, before the helmet. He is featured here with one of his droidsmith tools.

If you press his left foot, you can hear him speak some of his language, which is Anzellan, a heavily accented dialect of Galactic Basic (what we know as English). Fun Fact: the voice actor for Babu Frik in the movie was Shirley Henderson, who also portrayed Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter film franchise.

Babu Frik was, in my opinion, was one of the best parts of this movie, and when I saw that Mattel was releasing this plush that was basically life-sized to him, I knew that I had to pick him up. I got mine through Target online, and as of this posting he is still in stock for delivery. You also might be able to get him in stores like Target, Walmart, etc. However, with it being post holiday, most stores I’d suspect would be out of him.
