Disney’s Lorcana Live Demos & Tournaments Announced For Gen Con

Ravensburger has announced that Disney fans will get a first chance to play the upcoming Trading Card Game, “Lorcana”, at the upcoming Gen Con event in Indianapolis, which is the largest and longest-running annual event devoted to tabletop gaming culture in North America.   The event is running from the 3rd of August, 2023, through to the 6th of August.

Disney “Lorcana| is a brand-new, welcoming collectable trading card game (TCG) with unique and magical gameplay that features beloved Disney characters in both original and reimagined ways in an all-new world.   The game was designed to be easy to learn and welcoming for newcomers to TCGs while still offering strategic depth and challenges for experienced players.

Ravensburger is going to be running a Learn-To-Play demonstration, which will provide a hands-on experience for the first time ahead of the release of the game.  The demo will cost $20. However, those who take part will receive a Lorcana Starter Deck upon completion of the demo, which is valued at $16.99.  Each demo will take an hour and will be running throughout the weekend.

There will also be a Disney Lorcana Starter Deck Challenge taking place, where players will receive a starter deck to play in a 3-round, casual tournament, with a prize for the top 8.

It will cost $20 to enter and this includes a randomly selected Starter Deck; players will be allowed to add cards from the booster pack included in the Starter to enhance their deck. Players will play three 50-minute Swiss rounds; the top 8 players will receive a Disney Lorcana Play Mat and an invitation to participate in a special event on Sunday!
Tickets for the event are available through GenCon

Disney’s “Lorcana” will be available at local game stores on 18th August 2023 and at mass retailers on 1st September 2023.
