New “When You Wish Upon a Star” stars Sara Bareilles

Disney has released a new version of “When You Wish Upon a Star,” filmed in New York, Glasgow, and London. Sara Bareilles sings accompanied by backups and an unidentified orchestra.

Bareilles performed the song earlier in the evening on American Idol, with the top 5 contestants.

This isn’t Sara’s first time singing the song. She performed it at the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games Opening Ceremony.

Her first major connection with Disney was performing Ariel in a two-night June 2016 presentation of The Little Mermaid. The house of mouse also brought John Stamos, Rebel Wilson to that Hollywood Bowl event.
