A red elephant in the audience of a talk show.

WATCH: That time Terk and Tantor appeared on a talk show

The Rosie O’Donnell Show really doesn’t get the pop culture cred it’s due. In its day, O’Donnell was one of the biggest destinations for celebrities, most of whom remain recognizable to this day.

Today, Rosie’s official channel shared the show’s June 17, 1999 episode, complete with Steve Irwin showing off his baby, Bindi, to a python.

But the treasure in this episode is one of the most impressive marketing pieces Disney’s done: all new animation of Terk and Tantor.

Rosie, of course, voiced the rowdy gorilla in the 1999 modern classic. So it’s a hoot to see them bantor with each other, physically interacting. And it’s amazing to think that original, hand-drawn animation was created for a daytime talk show, to be seen just twice if you include the summer repeats. Such expense is usually reserved for headline events like the Academy Awards.

It’s an animation gem, saved from obscurity. Give it a watch.
