Thousands of Fans Celebrate the Release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Walt Disney World Resort

This past weekend, on December 17th, guests and fans will be among the first to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens during a sold out, special-ticketed Star Wars: The Force Awakens Opening Night event at Walt Disney World Resort. The event took part at the at AMC Disney Springs 24, with guests being able to walk a red carpet, past banners and spot lights, to the first public showings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

After the movie, fans got to enjoy a private after-hours party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios until 2 a.m with the party including access to new Star Wars experiences, including Star Wars Launch Bay, Star Tours — The Adventures Continue attraction and more.

Also during the weekend, Disney’s Hollywood Studios park guests were able to experience the first official display of the “Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular’’ fireworks show which was inspired by the Star Wars saga.
