New LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Playable Characters Announced At NYCC

During the recent LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 panel at the New York Comic Con, lots of new playable characters were announced for the game.  There are plenty of characters in the new game, over 300 playable characters if you include the ones in the Season Pass.  With characters from Thor Ragnarok and the Defenders show, it does seem the team behind the game want you to have plenty of choice.

New characters will include:

  • Grandmaster
  • Valkyrie.
  • Arizona Annie!
  • Captain Avalon!
  • Luke Cage
  • Misty Knight
  • Blade!
  • Dormammu
  • Phantom Rider
  • Morbius
  • Ghost Rider!
  • Ursa Major
  • Hobgoblin
  • Charlie-27
  • Red Wolf
  • Hellcow
  • Living Totem,
  • Hulk 2099!

My Take:  One of the major advantages to these LEGO games is that the team can go very obscure and pick some very deep cuts from the comic books, something that wouldn’t be possible if they had to produce toys like with LEGO Dimensions.  I think its great to give fans a chance to explore some of these lesser known characters, while still giving us more well known characters like Luke Cage and Ghost Rider.
