Disney Ends LA Times Blacklisting

Earlier today it was revealed that film critics were working together to boycott Disney movies following Disney blacklisting the LA Times, which led to a online backlash against the company.  This backlash has led to Disney ending its ban on the LA time from press screenings of its movies.

“We’ve had productive discussions with the newly installed leadership at The Los Angeles Times regarding our specific concerns, and as a result, we’ve agreed to restore access to advance screenings for their film critics,” a Disney spokesperson said to Variety.

With five different critic groups from major cities including Boston, Toronto and New York, Disney obviously felt the blacklisting wasn’t worth the hassle, especially just for advance screening of a movie, especially with the award season underway.
