Disney Comics Solicitations July 2019
July is looking to be a rather wild month for Disney trade paperbacks and hardcovers but a rather dry one for single issues in terms of variety. We start off with Disney Comics and Stories where we will be getting three action packed Donald stories, in Frozen Hero Within #2, Elsa and Anna can’t understand why their new friend has not shown up at the castle yet and sets out to look for her. The retelling of a classic continues as Snow White meets the Seven Dwarfs in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs #2.
In Marvel Action Avengers #7, MODOK is up to no good once again but the bigger focus will be on an old friend of Black Panther’s, will they be friend or foe ? In Marvel Action Spider-Man #8, the hunt for the feline thief continues as the Spider-trio run into a lot of bad luck. And finally in Star Wars Adventures #24, Poe is captured and it is up to beloved droid BB8 to rescue him
As we venture onto the trades and hardcovers, we will be delving in various Disney worlds, we start off in a galaxy far far away as the Disney Italia adaptation of the original Star Wars trilogy reaches its IDW published conclusion in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Two Marvel legends are honoured in two all new Artist Editions centred on Silver Surfer and The Incredible Hulk.
Back in Disney, we will be travelling through time courtesy of Dark Horse with new Mickey and Scrooge centered adaptations of Don Quixote Starring Goofy and Mickey Mouse and Christmas Carol Starring Scrooge McDuck. A wide variety of Disney movies will be covered in a new hardcover collection entitled Disney Storied Places and the classic Silly Symphonies comic strip comes to an end in Walt Disney’s Silly Symphonies Volume 4
The Joe Books Frozen comics have found a new home in Frozen Adventures: Flurries of Fun and finally in other frosty stories, we have the legendary Ice Sword Saga collected in the ninth volume of Disney Masters from Fantagraphics.

Disney Comics and Stories #6 ( IDW Publishing)
Donald Duck takes center stage in three hilarious stories never before seen in the U.S.! In “The Probability Diverter,” Gyro Gearloose’s latest invention changes Donald’s luck-but not necessarily for the better! In the second story, Gyro’s fix-it machine finds itself in need of some pretty heavy fixing before it can do what it is supposed to! Disney Frozen : Hero Within #2 of 3 (Dark Horse Comics)
Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf’s celebration comes to a halt when their special guest never arrives. Hedda has gone missing and they split up to try to find her. Elsa and Olaf search the village while Anna and Kristoff search the mountains-where they gain a little wisdom from the trolls and discover why Hedda disappeared!
Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs #2 of 3 ( Dark Horse Comics)
Snow has fled after the Queen’s attempt to murder her, but finding a home and allowing her heart to flourish is more than a simple feat. Is happiness fleeting, or can it be something that lasts? Follow the first-person perspective of Snow White as her life is changed forever!
