GMA Celebrates Asian Month with Disney on Broadway
Yesterday, Good Morning America shared performances by the Korean and Japanese casts of Disney musicals, to help wrap up May’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
The montage begins on the street with Broadway’s Aladdin, with Adi Roy as Aladdin and Sonya Balsara as Jasmine.
Cut to all three Genie actors in Seoul, Korea’s production of the same, singing “Friend Like Me.”
In Tokyo, Disney on Broadway has four productions on-going: Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, and Frozen. We’re treated to Japanese language productions of “Be Our Guest,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” “Prince Ali,” and “Love is an Open Door.”
Finally, a return to the GMA studio with the Broadway cast of Aladdin singing “A Whole New World.” Roy and Balsara are joined by Don Darryl Rivera as Iago.
