Next X-Men Movie To Be Set In The 1990’s

With X-Men: Apocalypse set to hit cinemas later this month, there is also talk about the next movie, which according to ComingSoon.net, who recently spoke with Simon Kinberg at a press junket for Apocalypse, he confirmed

“The next one is set in the ’90s,”.

It’s not yet clear if this will be a direct sequel or the “New Mutants” movie which will feature a new roster of super-powered teens, including Magik, Wolfsbane, Dani Moonstar, Cannonball, Sunspot, and Warlock with Processor X & Storm also involved.  a

Previous movies took place in the 70’s and 80’s, it makes sense to keep moving forward and it was in the 90’s that the X-Men went mainstream with a hit animated series (I used to set my video recorder every Saturday morning for it).
