Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Premieres At Fan Expo Canada
Star Wars fans had something to look forward to at the popular Canadian convention Fan Expo Canada from August 31 to September 3. The convention along with Disney XD Canada and Corus Entertainment (They handle liscencing for Disney , Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network programming in Canada) brought out the exclusive premiere of Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Episode 1 ” Heroes of Mandalore”.
The premiere was held on the busiest day of the convention, line up began at 9 am with VIP members then 9:30 with everyone else, the line soon spread throughout the entire hall, even a few cosplayers dressed up for the premiere, including this Sabine Wren.
By 11:15, we were escorted in the theatre room of the convention ( Last year, it was held in one of the panel rooms, this was a much needed improvement) where the entire theatre was soon filled, four empty chairs were on stage, we were about to get special guests.
A moderator and special guests Dave Filoni ( creator and executive producer of Star Wars Rebels), Vanessa Marshall ( Hera) and Taylor Gray (Ezra) soon stepped on stage for an hour long QA about their respective roles in creating the show’s universe along with leaving some clues towards the future of some of the characters like Ashsoka, the mysterious wolf creatures that were shown during Season 3 of Rebels and the villainous Thrawn and how his inclusion brought upon a novel and a resurgence in popularity amongst Star Wars fans.
Another thing that was brought up was the character arc of Kallus or as the fans call him * Sexy Kallus* these days and how Season 4 will touch more on his route to becoming a Rebel against the Galactic Empire. Another important moment was the reveal of Hera getting a promotion later on in the season becoming a X-Wing pilot and her blossoming relationship with Kanan which was teased with a small video clip.
After this clip, Filoni revealed that he brought with him the second part of Heroes of Mandalore ( Part 1 was shown at Star Wars Celebration in Florida earlier this year) and brought it exclusively to the convention since he loves the city of Toronto. Both parts were shown and a small raffle was held, the winner of the lucky seat number won a 250$ EB Games gift card. Every attendant also received a poster showing Sabine with one of her Mandalorian friends.
Star Wars Rebels Season 4 premieres October 16 on both the American and Canadian Disney XD networks. Season 3 is now available on Blu Ray and DVD from our friends at Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.
