Star Wars Battlefront Can’t Violate Star Wars Canon

Recently on a EA earning conference call, executives from EA said there are no plans to include content or characters from “Stars Wars: The Force Awakens” movie in coming expansion packs.

EA finance chef Blake Jorgensen has said that EA can’t make a game in ’Star Wars’ that violates the canon of ‘Star Wars.’  “Meaning, you can’t take something from the future and bring it back into the past unless it’s a reference.

Because of these canon rules, it looks like we won’t see Kylo Ren vs Jar Jar Binks anytime soon however an expansion pack featuring content from the upcoming ‘Rogue One’ movie is still possible since it takes places before Episode IV and the movie will be out during the Battlefront life cycle.   And EA wouldn’t confirm when another Battlefront game would be released.

“We’re trying to stay tightly connected to the ‘Star Wars’ beat for future movies, and we will obviously in future Star Wars games be able to tap the new characters and vehicles and so forth,” Mr. Jorgensen said.

So it looks like if you feel the need to jump around the Star Wars Canon time then Disney Infinity 3.0 is your option as Rey vs Anakin is perfectly possible.
