According to documents filed this week at City Hall, Disney is planning on building a new seven-story, 6800 space parking structure in 2017 on Disney Way, which is currently the Pumbaa parking lot.

There are also plans to build a new transportation hub opposite on Manchester Avenue and will then close its current hub, which is used for hotel shuttle drop off. Disney recently purchased the Carousel Inn and Suites hotel, which closes in October, which will then be removed to make a new pedestrian walkway from the transit hub, over Harbor Boulevard.

The new parking structure will help add more parking capacity and calm traffic on Harbor, Ball Road and Katella Avenue, as visitors would be encouraged to use the new parking lot from the northbound I-5, without having to use those

All of this work is set to be completed in 2018, ahead of the opening of Star Wars Land.
